An original manta ray photograph by Tom Cannon, captured on Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia.
I photographed Angel while working with the Ningaloo Manta Project to capture identification images of manta rays’ undersides.
As I returned to the surface for a breath, this individual followed me, almost eye to eye. Encounters like this are what make photographing manta rays so special.
